Our Story

Arther Lule, Founder & CEO

"I grew up near illegal dumpsites. Luther Plastics exists to clean our communities, create jobs, and make durable furniture people can afford."

Growing up near illegal dumpsites in Uganda, Arther saw first-hand how discarded plastic clogged drainage systems and polluted neighbourhoods with nowhere useful to go. That experience became the starting point for Luther Plastics: rather than treating plastic waste as a problem to manage, we treat it as a resource to build with.

We began with the basic work of collection, gathering HDPE waste from jerrycans, bottle caps and packaging that would otherwise pollute communities. From there we grew into sorting, shredding, and eventually pressing that waste into durable sheet, and finally into finished products like school desks, chairs, tables and storage shelves. Every product we make represents plastic waste that did not end up polluting a community.
