2nd place at the Uganda Climate Innovation Challenge 2026
Luther Plastics placed 2nd at the UCIC 2026 Final Pitch Event at Silver Springs Hotel, Bugolobi. We came through the UCIC Top 50 Business Incubation Programme and were one of 13 finalists pitching to judges, investors and climate stakeholders.
The grant goes into production: repairing our sheet-press machine, increasing output, and sourcing more plastic waste from landfills, which creates more opportunities for the waste collectors we work with.
The programme is run by Green Africa Youth Organization (GAYO) Uganda and Youth Climate Council Uganda.

1st Runner-Up at the MTN and WWF PachiPanda Innovation Challenge 2026
Out of 320 applicants, Luther Plastics made the Top 15 for the three-day bootcamp, then finished 1st Runner-Up at the finale. Arther Lule pitched alongside co-founder Muyama Shaima Kemigisha.
We collect plastic waste in Wakiso and press it into durable boards that become furniture for homes and schools. Plastic that would have ended up in a drainage channel or an open fire becomes a table in someone's living room.
